Impactful Research
We conduct research across a range of disciplines and a variety of sectors. Our current research themes bring together expertise from across the Business Administration Division in order to address a wide spectrum of business disciplines. All traditional areas of research are represented, including economics, international business, marketing, management, finance and accounting.
Beside conducting research in traditional business research areas, we also aim to bring together researchers from across different disciplines on specific themes of national and international significance. The following four research themes reflect the College’s holistic approach and provide a platform for developing future interdisciplinary research.
Helping Thailand know the World. Helping the World know Thailand
We aim to produce scholarly work with intrinsic business value that contributes to one or both of the two components of our vision (Thailand to World and/or World to Thailand). This includes scholarly work reviewing current developments in the academic literature that are of value to Thai businesses and the economy.
Beyond Business: The impacts of businesses on a sustainable world
This research theme covers an investigation of businesses, business units, business environments and their interactions with the wider world. The focus will be on the impacts on the triple bottom line of sustainability: economy, society, and environment. Researchers can also use the 17 millennial sustainable development goals (SDGs) as a guiding principle. All majors can partake in this theme, for example:
Technologies and their intersection with business
This theme addresses the continuous changes in technology and their impact on business and society. The research theme for New & Emerging Technologies is dedicated to the study of the inter-relationships and linkages between businesses and technology. The main topics of interest for this research theme are periodically revised to remain current to evolving international developments and agendas.
A multidisciplinary approach
Health – a basic social need that accounts for approximately 10 per cent of the global economy – presents multidisciplinary challenges that calls for innovative and cost effective technological, managerial, and legal solutions. The goal of the research theme for Health & Wellbeing is to bring together a critical mass of expertise in 10 research themes, addressing these challenges:
